Beautycounter: Countermatch Collection

I don’t know about everyone else, but I’m indecisive AF. Too many choices stress me out and I like for people to take the thinking out of it for me. Well, call me your hero, because that’s what I plan to do- breakdown each line, giving you the stats and deets. Today’s post is dedicated to the very popular Countermatch line.

A Bit about Beautycounter

If you aren’t familiar with Beautycounter, it’s more than just skincare and cosmetics, but a movement for safe products. They have banned over 1,800 chemicals commonly used in American cosmetics in their products and implement the highest standard for quality and regulation. The company is pushing for new legislation to update cosmetics regulations that havent been changed since the 1920’s!

Many common ingredients are actually toxic- linked to cancer, infertility and other issues. Beautycounter believes that beauty should be good for you, and you shouldn’t have to sacrifice health for high performing products.

Countermatch Line

“Our Countermatch Collection is formulated to match the natural structure of the skin and deliver long-lasting moisture—for an everyday glow.

This line is geared for normal to combo skin types who are looking for healthy hydration, smooth texture, radiance and age prevention.

***This line is best for those who are just starting to show signs of aging. If you are already advanced in aging or are very dry, then the Countertime Collection may be a better option for you.

After four weeks:

  • 97% said skin feels nourished
  • 100% said products provided instant and lasting hydration
  • 97% said skin looks brighter

*Based on an independent, 31-subject consumer perception study using Countermatch Cleansing Milk, Moisture Serum, Eye Rescue Cream, Recovery Sleeping Cream, and Adaptive Moisture Lotion for four weeks.

The Goods

STEP 1: Countermatch Pure Calm Cleansing Milk, $32
This cleanser is gentle, yet powerful, removing makeup and dirt without stripping away natural oils. Don’t expect a squeaky clean feeling, but a soft, and nourished one (remember, the more oils you strip, the more oils your face will produce). This cleanser contains plum, Jojoba & coconut oil… and y’all know how I feel about cleansing with oils!

STEP 2: Countermatch Hydra-Gel Radiance Toner, $45
This brand new toner makes pores appear smaller by removing impurities and boosting glow & hydration (NOT greasy). Contains squalane(restores elasticity), plum oil (omega rich for vibrant skin), phytic acid (exfoliates for GLOW).

STEP 3: Countermatch Intense Moisture Serum, $49
Serums are where you get your most concentrated amount of anti-aging ingredients. Packed with hyaluronic acid and vitamins C & E, this baby packs a punch. Skin is more hydrated, firm & even toned…and fine lines are reduced.

After just two weeks:*

  • 97% said skin looked healthier and brighter
  • 94% said skin felt firmer and the appearance of fine lines was reduced
  • 94% said skin tone appeared more even and skin radiance was improved

STEP 4 (day): Countermatch Adaptive Moisture Lotion, $49 (best seller)
My daily moisturizer. 1,796 FIVE STAR REVIEWS, Y’ALL. Award winning and best selling. Don’t let the lightweight feel of this baby throw you..this is a powerful moisturizer that adapts to your skin, providing just the right amount of moisture… for up to 24 hours! Your skin feels so smooth and perfectly hydrated. Layers beautifully and makeup applies like a dream over it.

STEP 4 (Evenings): Countermatch Recovery Sleeping Cream, $56
Y’all know I’m a sucker for a night cream. And this is a great option for those with normal to slightly dry skin. With TWO forms of hyaluronic acid, this cream is designed to retain moisture while you sleep, and contains phytic acid, plum oil and squalane so that you wake with skin thats more smooth, vibrant and nourished.

STEP 5: Countermatch Eye Rescue Cream, $39
Similar to the Adaptive Moisturizer, this formula is lightweight, but a powerful hydrator. In addition to hydration, this cream also reduces fine lines, makes your eyes appear more awake, less puffy and reduces shadows.

Additional: Countermatch Adaptive Body Moisturizer
The Adaptive Moisture Face Lotion is such a hit, that people wanted something like it for their body. Beautycounter delivered. Another 5 star reviewed item.

Caroline’s Take…

This is an awesome line for the late 20 something, early 30 something gal that wants to prevent aging. It’s hydrating without being greasy and packed with lots of the “good stuff” you want to keep those wrinkles from coming earlier than you want.

-If you are already advanced in your signs of aging, or are very dry- then I would recommend the Countertime Line.

-If you are oily and acne prone, then you may want to look into the Countercontrol Line.

I personally, mix some of the Countermatch line with the Countertime Line.

You can purchase the entire Countermatch Face Regimen (cleanser, toner, serum, adaptive moisture lotion and recovery sleep cream) for $179. Which I get, sounds like a big chunk of change…but honestly even if you were to go to CVS and buy Olay cleanser, toner, serum day and night cream that would run you around $100. Not to mention, these products contain no fillers, so they are very potent- a little goes a long way and will last you! And you never have to question safety in ingredients.

Countermatch Face Regimen $179

OR you can purchase the entire Countermatch Collection, which is the regimen, but with larger sizes of the Adaptive Moisture Lotion and Recovery Sleeping Cream PLUS the eye cream for $243.

Countermatch Collection $243

And if you are reading this before March 31, 2020, you get 10% off!

My advice, if you can’t afford or don’t want to spend this much, would be to get the serum, adaptive moisture lotion and sleeping cream… To me these are essentials that will give you the most bang for your buck.

***You can always ask me to sample the line before you buy. AND if you buy it and don’t love it, Beautycounter has a 60 day return policy for even open items- no questions asked. Gotta love stellar customer service.

SKIN CARE IS SELF CARE, Y’ALL. And there’s no better time than now. If you are in your late 20’s or 30’s, I highly recommend you get serious about your skincare routine! And if you are in your 40’s and up and don’t feel satisfied with your current routine, I definitely encourage you to check out Beautycounter.

Stay Glowy,

Caroline
